She has worked with multilateral organisations, government bodies, and civil society coalitions to develop regulatory frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and due diligence tools for high-risk industries and conflict-affected areas.
Ara has held senior roles at Amnesty International and Transparency International, and served as a strategic adviser to the UK Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Conflict. She has led major advocacy efforts contributing to the Arms Trade Treaty and international controls on dual-use technologies and policing equipment.
Her expertise spans human rights due diligence, anti-bribery frameworks, export control regimes, and ESG risk mapping in the defence and security sectors.
She has supported governance reform and compliance initiatives with the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations, and contributed to global benchmarking tools such as the Defence Companies Index and the Government Defence Integrity Index. Ara is known for delivering practical, risk-informed frameworks that align with international legal standards and strengthening institutional integrity in complex environments.
